We received this nice note from LI Cares after making our annual company food donation. Founded by the late Harry Chapin, Long Island Cares is a valuable humanitarian organization that works with schools and local organizations to create solutions for the over 100,000 kids on Long Island who regularly go hungry.
Although they are Long Island’s oldest food bank, they are much more than that today, having grown into one of the region’s most comprehensive hunger assistance organizations, promoting public education and self-sufficiency. They provide a large array of programs that include hunger education, job training, nutrition programs, a pet pantry, veterans’ services, government affairs/public advocacy and more. They are an essential force in the effort to create a hunger-free Long Island.
Please consider donating your time and/or resources to their valuable cause.
