Thanks for the support!
Thanks to the PWGC employees who took part in the Annual 5K Run for the Ridley race in Riverhead last weekend, and all those who came out to cheer us on! Ridley sea turtles are a genus of sea turtle comprising two species, and both are currently on the New York and United States lists of endangered species.
Proceeds from the 5k Turtle Run will directly support the New York State Marine Mammal and Sea Turtle Stranding Program operated by the Riverhead Foundation for Marine Research & Preservation. This is the only authorized organization of its kind in New York State. Trained staff and volunteers provide assistance and care to over 150 animals a year.
We all had a blast supporting this important program. Our founder and President, Dr. Paul Grosser, took third in his age group, while PWGC employees Derek Ersbak and Pablo Rodriguez took second and third, respectively, for their age group. Congratulations to all!

The not-for-profit Riverhead Foundation is located within the Long Island Aquarium & Exhibition Center. Please consider visiting the aquarium with friends and family (they are a primary supporter of the Foundation), volunteering or making a donation to support this essential mission of rescuing and rehabilitating marine mammals and sea turtles.
