PWGC is proud to announce that Brian Heflich, PE, Project Manager and Sarah Rudnick, IE, Project Engineer, have been elected as President and Vice President, respectively, for American Society of Civil Engineer’s (ASCE) Long Island Branch Younger Member Committee (LIB YMC)!
Brian states, “I am honored to have been nominated to be this year’s President of the ASCE LIB YMC. ASCE is a great organization to be a part of with its strong commitment to supporting the profession both at national and local levels. I look forward to planning and participating in the events that we have scheduled for this year. Our events range from networking, community service, technical development and construction site tours.”
“I feel honored to have been selected as the Vice President of the ASCE LIB YMC for the 2021-2022 year,” Sarah says. “Through ASCE, I have met many colleagues who are passionate about the improvement of our world through civil/environmental engineering. I am proud to have a leadership role in this organization which provided me with resources and support throughout college and also throughout the early stages of my career. I love working alongside my fellow YMC Officers who place value on professional development, community service, and student outreach. I would like to say thank you to PWGC for supporting and encouraging participation in professional organizations.”
The Long Island Branch serves ASCE members who reside and/or work in Nassau and Suffolk counties. Each year, the Long Island Branch organizes a variety of activities including several technical lectures that provide continuing education (PDH) credits necessary for maintaining professional licensure, a golf tournament, a transportation luncheon, and an awards dinner. These events supplement the program offered by the Met Section and are convenient for members that may not be able to travel to Manhattan to attend ASCE Met Section events.
