It is our pleasure to announce that Jenny Heflich, nee Lund, PE, Project Manager, has been selected for the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) Metropolitan Section Long Island Branch (LIB) 2021 Young Engineer of the Year award.
Each year, the LIB proudly recognizes dedicated individuals and teams working on Long Island who have significantly contributed to the engineering profession and the community. The Young Engineer of the Year Award recognizes those who have rendered exceptional service to the Civil Engineering profession.
Since starting at PWGC in 2011, Jenny has played a lead role on every project she has been a part of. For example, Jenny was the lead engineer on the Long Wharf Rehabilitation project located in the Village of Sag Harbor, NY. She was responsible for the preparation of a preliminary engineering design report for the rehabilitation of the storied marine infrastructure that is an anchor for the Village.
With this said, it our pleasure to announce that the Long Wharf Rehabilitation project was awarded the ASCE LIB 2021 Project of the Year – Maritime Award.

- Tritec Real Estate Co.’s apartment complex known as The Shipyard at Port Jeff Harbor.
- New York City Water Quality Investigations
- Various Legionella Policy and Procedure Prevention Plan projects
- Village of Sag Harbor – Havens Beach project
- Brookhaven National Laboratory – Corrosion Control Desktop Study
- Brookhaven National Laboratory – Tolytriazole Management and Treatability project
“Jenny is an exceptional young engineer and is a rising star at PWGC,” said Boyce. “She is passionate about her work and cares greatly about meeting the needs of the clients that she serves.” He added that she is active in the engineering industry through her participation with the local Long Island Branch of ASCE.
He added, “Jenny has tremendous potential and when she puts her mind to any task, we can always count on her to get the job done well!”
