Our July Ride the Wave Award recipient, Will, selected August’s recipient based off their leadership skills and ability to adapt to unfamiliar situations. This employee is Michael Pecoraro, Project Hydrogeologist. Will explains his selection,
“I believe one of the key characteristics that one should admire in a fellow team member is their ability to lead. A lot goes into leadership such as problem solving, adapting to unfamiliar situations, coordinating tasks among the team, and just overall making sure the job gets done well. Though I believe many of us at PWGC have these characteristics, one person stands out. That person is Mike Pecoraro! It’s almost impossible to talk about my time at PWGC without mentioning my time overseeing the Garvies Point project at Glen Cove, NY. Mike has served as the Field Team Leader for our field team out there for a long time and I can honestly say that through him the job always got completed correctly and efficiently. He is able to adapt to any situation that arises out there and coordinates the team well. So thank you Mike for all that you do! Keep up the good work!”
Mike thanks Will by saying,
“Thank you Will, for your kind words and for years of working together. I’m going to be sincere the only way I know how, as a geologist. The PWGC team is like a piece of granite; a colorful aggregate of unique individuals, and as a whole is strong, able to meet all kinds of challenges. I am honored and delighted to work with you all and can’t wait to see what the future will bring. I am sure it will be really gneiss. Cowabunga!”
